The Elf Princess Eleanore plays an integral role in the adventures that lead to Sting attaining its magical powers hundreds of years before Bilbo encountered it on his journey to the Lonely Mountain. Some of the other major players are:
Gimling- an apprentice to the Grey Wizard, Bellache. Gimling is overly confident in his skills which often gets him in trouble!
Donagle Jr, son of the dwarf King Donagle Krumpler. He is thrust into an adventure he could never have expected.
Eleanore, daughter to the Elf Queen, Xanthelus. Her strong will and dislike of authority serves her well.
Tunigleim, the elf Master of Defense, has an unusual loyalty to the Princess. He is a master archer.
Rogan, the cannibalistic witch of Angmar. She is rumored to consume the wizards that her "Catchers" collect along the East-West road. She has twin daughters, Darthol (the Dark One) and Delia (the Oracle of the Willow Woods). Her paranoia of her daughters' growing power caused her to banish them many years ago...an event they never forgot.
The giant of Golget, an enormous giant with the head of a toad.
The Seven Headed Dragon of Severity... the name says it all!
These characters, along with many more, have been working to find the Opal Stone ever since its location was revealed by its removal from the magical protection of the Krumpler Dungeon.
